Welcome to USU1350 Integrated Life Science. USU1350 is a Life Science Breadth course that has been designed to meet certain objectives. Population growth estimates are that we will share the planet with nine billion or more fellow people by the year 2040. The primary goal of USU 1350 is to insure that students have the adequate tools to make the multitude of informed decisions that will be necessary to continue to feed, clothe, and house the inhabitants of the earth over the long term. Such decisions require a working knowledge of the processes that are responsible for our sustenance. These processes are not limited to photosynthesis and Mendelian genetics, but also encompass the politics of food production and distribution. Decisions sometimes have very different results than what was envisioned initially. Our overall goal is to learn from the past for a better future.
